Hi

I have this problem that I cannot solve. There is a telephone register software I use, which has all the phone numbers in my area. When I do a search in it, it will output a table with all the findings. I can copy up to 24 items at once, and paste to an excel sheet. Over 24, it will error out, that I copied too many items. This is the limitation of the software. My question is as follows. Is there any applications I may try to take/copy the info from this table, and paste to some other place, like excel sheet or notepad?

This would save me tremendous amount of time.

Thanks

Ben

bence8810,

I believe that the limitation is in the application you are coping from and not a limitation of Excel.

You might, if you have not already, look to see if the app will export to a flat or csv file format. This could then be imported to Excel or other apps.

Hi

Yes, I know this is a limitation of the application I am exporting from, and I would like to overcome that. Excel has no trouble pasting a lot of data at once, but rather the database I am trying to get the data from. It has export feature, also limited to 24 entries at once.

Is there any app, that might be able to copy the data off somehow, and then paste it elsewhere?

Thanks

Ben

bence8810,

Sorry but I have been out. Can you provide info on the app that you are using? The telephone register software..

bence8810,
you may be able to try an import external data from the excel side to your database, or perhaps there is an odbc driver for the database to allow you to read and import into excel.

Hi

This software is provided by the Hungarian telecom, and consists of all names and numbers that are not secret. If we want to get a name-database from them, we have to pay a per/item fee for that. WHereas this software is cheaper, and only allows 24 entries to be copied at once. I'd like to overcome this, and take all, or at least a bigger bunch of numbers at once from it. When I select more than 24, it says You selected too many entries. I dont know what to do about it. I think therefore that all info is encrypted somehow. I was thinking there might be an application, that just reads the screen, and copies that somewhere. I am very fine with the entries that are shown on the screen.

Is there anything I can do?

THanks

Ben
