Ladies and Gents,
Can I build a macro that will make a backup copy of my database (on my desktop) on close?

Thank you in advance.

Floyd P

Do you have your database split FE / BE ?

Is it just the BE that you want to 'back up' ?

???

Its just a stand alone dbase. Do I need to split it? Thanks.

Depends on the answer to the second question.

I would be quite easy to write some VB code ( but certainly NOT a macro !!! ) using FileScript to copy the BE to another file because you can get to a point where the BE is closed and unencumbered ( no .ldm file ) whilst the FE is still running.

If you want to copy the FE then I'm not sure how FileScript will respond to trying to copy itself while it is open.

It's not a stunt I've ever come across needing to do.

What are you hoping to achieve by this ?
