I'm not sure that this is the correct forum for this question.

I have a new Dell computer and copy and paste does not work at all, either by using the keyboard or menu options.

This is true within all programs and also simply for example copying and pasting a url

I've never come across this before - anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Charlotte:

You did say, it is a new computer. So, just thinking aloud here. How about tryin the following in sequence ...

1) Ensure that the voltage setting is right
2) Switching off the computer, and trying again
3) Try using a diiferent keyBoard
4) Unplugging the accessories one at a time, shutting the computer off and trying again
5) Switching to adifferent plug point (in case there is a voltage/power issue
...
...

Well ... let us know it sorts out for you.

CharlotteL, please expand a little. Are other functions normal in Word, Excel etc? Are cut / paste greyed out in the menus?

You might also be better off asking at the Windows XP forum,

Thanks all, it seems it was something to do with my system file and the machine just needing a reboot - never seen this before but thankfully resolved.

Thanks for your help.
