Copy an Entire Subdirectory 1

Whats the most efficient way to copy an entire subdirectory to a new place?

The application I am involved with may have several hundred text files in a complicated tree structure. I would rather avoid creating a new folder structure in the archive path, and then creating each file individually if I can.
