Converting Word 2003 Doc to PDF

I have a Word 2003 document that has check boxes drawn on the document. When I use Word to convert to Adobe PDF, the PDF document does not have the boxes/drawings.

Any ideas?

check boxes drawn" - do mean literally? They are line drawings, like with Word Art?

If you print it to a PDF printer does it print the boxes?
If it does then use that instead.
