Is it possible to convert the project into an .exe file?

No, you can create Access run-times with the Office Developers Edition. This allows you to distribute standard mdbs or mdes without the user having a copy of Access installed on their PC.

does this eliminate version-compatability problems?
like developing in 2000 and running on 97?

thanks,
Christy.

Some compatability problems may occur if you install a run-time from one version of Access on a system with another version installed. If you plan to go through the trouble of creating run-times, you might want to consider using the scripts available at I believe these also require Wise Installer or InstallShield Pro.
