Hi all, I have a spreadsheet with about 200 countif statements in it that rely on other spreadsheets being open. Is ther a way to change the contents of those countif cells to real numbers rather than formulas?

Hi,

Simple Spreadsheet solution --
[tt]
Copy
Edit > Paste Special - values

You can also use Edit, Links, break links. Certainly works with Excel 2003, don't remember it in Excel 2000.

Or make sure that Tools, Options, Calculation, Update Remote References is not ticked if you do not want to lose the formulae forever.

For Skip's solution there is also an equivalent toolbar button ( which I use all the time ) .... customize your toolbars and add the Paste Values button from the Edit category ( simply drag from the Customize dialog to the place on the toolbar you'd like it ).

Cheers, Glenn.
