converting fat32 to NTFS using convert.exe

...Is this fairly indestructive? Or will it sorta reformat the HD if I use convert.exe to chage the XP workstations form fat32 to NTFS
 
Its non destructive, normally works fine with no problems. Remember that once you have done it you cannot convert back, also when you have the NTFS partition you will not be able to see it from any DOS based boot disks. All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.
 
Make sure you back up before doing it just incase something should go wrong.
 
There is a way to access NTFS files from Dos! It is called NTFSDOS. I don't remember the supplier, but I know that the read version is a free download and the read/write version is several hundred dollars. I used the read version in my Windows NT4/ windows 98 dual boot days.
