Good Morning All,

I have searched for helpful threads pertaining to software that will convert Approach applications in their entirety to Access. Since I have found none, I am posting this inquiry.

I am acquiring a client whose 3 Approach 3.02 applications must be converted precisely - perhaps replicated is a better term - in Access97. In addition, she requires that the existing 3 apps be contained in 1 since the data tables are common to all.

My current priorities are:

To find software that is able to convert Approach Form and Report objects to their Access equivalents.

Failing the above, to import tables into a new Access .mdb and laboriously recreating relationships as well as Form and Report objects one-by-one manually until the applications are replicated. Although this might bring in revenue forever, I might be bored into my grave before completing the job.

If anyone knows of suitable software, puh-lease let me know post-haste. Otherwise, any suggestions will be appreciated and given serious consideration.

Best regards,

Jerry

Nothing is available to convert the forms, reports, etc. You will need to recreate the application from zippo using just the data tables imported into your Access system.

I am curious as to why this conversion is needed. Access will NOT perform any better than Approach and it is much more difficult to use. Just curious.

Thank you Sue Sloan for your response. I didn't think such software was available before I posted my inquiry, but I owe it to my client to do things the least costly way.

The direct answer to your "Just curious" question is that top management in the client organization has decreed that all end-user applications are to be in MS products on or about Feb. 1, 2001. Hence the need to convert Approach 3.02 to Access97.

Thanks again for taking me seriously, and

Best regards,
