I have a problem I have a pdf file that ws created from a scanned tiff. Any ideas how I can convert this into word so that it can become editable. Any free stuff on the web?

You need the TIF File and software that users OCR to change to text. Usually comes with Scanner. I do not believe you can do this from Adobe

The PDF file might have been OCR:d already. If you able to edit some text in it with Adobe Acrobat (not Reader), then those parts of the document are in text format and can be saved in RTF-format in Acrobat 5.
If you want do OCR when creating PDF documents from TIF files, you could use Adobe Acrobat Capture.
