convert to utf-8 without modules

Hi

I've written program which spiders my site and save words to database (mysql). I used data as search engine data.
My pages are coded in iso-8859-2 and i store it in db as utf-8
I was using Unicode::Lite to convert data.

Now i moved on another server and there's no possibility to install Unicode::Lite module

How can i convert without it ?

I can suggest to copy the module in the script directory and add the Module to @INC:

Copy it to the script..

use lib "/m/home/dmazzini";
BEGIN {push @INC,"/m/home/dmazzini"};
