A client of mine asked me whether it is possible to convert the reports generated to WORD or EXCEL format WITHOUT sacrificing the formatting embedded in those reports.
I know that you can print the file to a .txt format and for excel you can use the copy to xls format from the dbf. However, doing so will "rob" the report of the indentations and formatting you so carefully design (when opened with WORD or EXCEL for that matter. I have tried to install a "dummy" postscript printer and design the report to exclusively print using the printer in a hope that the resulting report will be readable by WORD but to no avail and get unreadable characters instead.
With regards to EXCEL, I have a report (in FPW26) on customers with their basic details PLUS a memo field with variable length on the remarks regarding the account's activity. How to export the report or at least the dbf details to EXCEL format inclusive of the memo fields?
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.
