Does anyone know how to convert MS-Word to a text document.

Too many solutions to list...
You can copy the entire document and paste into notepad. You should try to record a macro(open docuemnt and perform a SaveAs to a text document). This will give you sample code.
You could also write code to read the entire document and output it to a text file. To get you started, just record a macro in Word (open the file, ctrl-home, Ctrl-A then Ctrl-C). This will give you code to start with. Then, just open a file for output and paste from the clipboard.
Have you started to develop any code to do this? If so, could you paste it here?
