Content Updates by non-coders

I am looking for a means to allow content to be updated and managed by the site owners, without my direct involvement. I have thought of using an ASP / database combo to allow (with authentication) certain users to post text which I could then blend into an area of the site.

Anyone done something like that? Is there a common means of doing this?

My intent is not to be un-involved but to allow certain users to have day-to-day control of the dynamic content.

Hi,

I have had to write 3 sites with various forms of 'Content Maintenance' as we have started to call it. All of these have used ASP with an Access database. Authorised users once logged in have the option to select areas of the site in which they can add/edit/delete items. Existing content is pulled from the database into <TEXTAREA> and <INPUT> fields so they can be edited by the users. New content is simply entered into empty text fields. This content is then posted back to the server for addition to the database. This method has worked fine for us so far.

Content Maintenance like this is a great way for non-techies to get involved in using the site whilst it also takes some of the load off the people behind it. I personally have better things to do than update several news articles every day - I would much rather spend the time developing a means for someone else to do it.
