Citrix ICA Client 7.1

I set up content publishing that publishes a URL, for example. When I log in through NFuse (Citrix Web Interface), I can see the application, but when I use Program Neighborhood, it doesn't show up at all.

I searched the Citrix forums and found a few others with similar problems, but nobody answered any of their posts. Here's two examples of people with similar issues as me...

Thanks,
Chris

Could it be the client version? I notice those respondants are using 6.20. I'm using 7.00, and it works fine.

I tried with both the 7.0 and 7.1 clients for Windows and the 7.0 client for Linux. None of them show the published content. The only place I can get the content to show up is in NFuse. The servers have even been rebooted since creating the content, but still no good.

In your site, when you created the content, did you type in a URL, or did you browse for a file to publish? I've tried both and get the same result.

Thanks,
Chris

I also posted this question in the Citrix forums and someone replied with this...

"As far as I know you have to use Nfuse or the PN agent as the client for Content publishing, that's what it says in the Metaframe XP admin guide (P242 or thereabouts)."

Is this true? CitrixEngineer, when you said it works for you, are you doing the same thing as me publishing a URL and opening it in PN 7.0?

Thanks,
Chris

I think that statement above about having to use PN Agent or NFuse is wrong.

In the Citrix Adminstrator's Manual, page 260 under the title "Content Publishing Requirements and Limitations"...

"Published content appears in Program Neighborhood, Program Neighborhood Agent, and NFuse Classic application sets, so access to published content requires that the ICA Client support those features. You cannot create custom ICA connections to access published content".

fyi, I tried publishing a URL, a TXT file, and a DOC, but they all only show up in NFuse, not in PN.

Chris

Got it working, the answer is in my own post above:) "You cannot create custom ICA connections to access published content". This is kinda dumb, but I never even realized that there was another part to the ICA client where you can create application sets. I've always used the custom ICA connections, I thought that that was all there was to the ICA client. Well anyway, everything works fine when I use the application set rather than trying to create a custom ICA connection.

Chris

Application sets are the only way to go when you have end users loose on the system.

:)

Yes - that's how I accessed it. Glad you got it working.
