Contacts missing but still in WAB?? Wierd!!

Hi all,
Stand alone PC running Win98 with Outlook Express 6. All the address' are in the Adress Book but in the Contacts pane there is nothing. Restarted etc etc but no change. Went to O/E and view/layout, unticked the "Contacts" button, closed O/E then re-opened O/E, re-ticked the Contacts button and the folder re-appeared but still empty. All the address' are still in my address book and works perfectly, just that the contacts folder is empty :-(

Do you (or did you ever) have MSN Messenger installed on this computer?. MSN Messenger also uses this contact list.

Do you (or did you ever) use multiple Identities in OE? When you open the address book with the button in OE, make sure 'View, Folder and Groups' is checked and that all your contacts are listed under 'Main Identity's Contacts'

Hi again.... No, messenger not used and only a single identity used. I will check the layout of the WAB and get back

The layout is correct and everything looks normal. I might try uninstalling IE6/OE6 and reinstalling. I feel it is a simple DLL file that is corrupted but wouldn't have a clue as to which one :-(

I've been looking in the registry and can't come up with anything definitive. A reinstall might be the only cure.
