Contacts - Display

Hi folks, for obvious reasons, I'd prefer not to have the full e-mail address display on an outgoing e-mail, but even if I select the display feature in contacts, the full e-mail address is still visible in the new message, is there any way I can prevent the full e-mail address from showing on outgoing mail (especially if it's going to many recipients).

put a bogus internal email in the to: field and then put all of the other email addresses in the BCC field. No one else will be able to see them
