Hi all-I've never had to install thia App before.It is a key selling point for a potential new customer.I am just looking for general feedback,strengths,weaknesses,gotchas,etc.
Also,how accessible are stored files that are backed up to say a CD-Rom?Thanks much-
 
I did mention in an earlier mail that i have had people struggle to get this working due to having Novell on the network, issues with rights etc.

I know people that bhave ended up slamming an extra drive in the vm server and using that rather than spend two months wondering why this doesnt work etc.

Thanks Platinum Guy-I tried that to no avail.I ended up downgrading VM Pro to match and installing CS on the VM Pro machine,which is how I want to sell this anyway.Seems to be working fine.Noo need for 2 servers,these guys have 9 phones.
 
One last thing folks-Is there any way to manipulate the timing of the "Warning" message on outbound calls?It works perfectly on inbound,playing when the call is answered.Not the case on the Outbound,it plays as soon as the call starts ringing.
 
You cannot change the timing of that no.

You need to be aware here, have you put the CS on the same drive or partiton as VM?

CS is designed to run at full tilt, ie its directory is designed to be full of wavs so you have a wide searching scope.

If the CS directory is on the same drive etc it will fill the vm drive right up. Obviously this is an issue.

CS needs to be on a second drive or partition, away from the vm.

Right-this is just for demo purposes.The plan would be for an external Hard Drive and a writable CD-Rom for archiving.
The outboung issue may be my set-up.My demo IPO accesses Definity trunks thru analog ports and dials out that way.Hopefully that's the issue.
 
Contact store runs fine on a different server to VM. Its just that it cannot run off a mapped network drive (use \\ip address\vrl ) and you need to make sure your login has full access writes to the folder otherwise CS is unable to delete the wav file so will go into an infinite loop copying the wav file into the database.
 
Hi There,

I have a problem installing contact store on a particular machine. This machine is running 2003 R2 and it has MS SQL 2005 installed. Does it effect the system?
The installation was successful but I am getting this error when I go
HTTP Status 404 - /

When I check the Windows logs I find this error in the application logs:
The description for Event ID ( 19011 ) in Source ( MSSQL$CONTACTSTORE ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: (SpnRegister) : Error 1355.

Maybe somebody else could comment on what i am about to say.

Contact store must use the msde that comes with the contact store install, you cannot use sql with contact store. I have had numerous people try this with lots of issues, the same as you describe.

I dont think you can have msde and sql on the same machine?
