Hi, so near yet so far on this

have a voicemail running on the linux server addition (standalone not card)

trying to setup with contact store, I load the voicemail pro client, go to general and then 'Voicemail Recording'. With SFTP server running on the contact store machine, I inputted the username, password of created SFTP client.

Just struggling with the Remote FTP Location and the Remote FTP host fields, has anyone setup this up and has an example of the file path used???

I have tried Remote FTP Location - c:\test and Remote FTP host - <ip address of contact store> but still get an error message :(

I did the FTP backup part a couple of times now.

You set it up like this

ftp.domainname.com
\Foldername
Username
Password

Yuo should not put in the complete path but only \foldername and not c:\Foldername

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

tlpeter, thanks for this

just a question though on the ftp.domain.com

the 2 machines, vmpro on the linux box and contact store on windows server are both on the same network, would it not just require the local IP address or name of server here instead?

You could do that, no problem.

one final question, what sftp client software did you use on the windows based machine?

I did not use this option yet the ftp backup (no sftp) but there are a couple like filezilla which works fine.

TLPeter, played around with this some more, still getting no where

From what you mentioned you used similar for backups of voicemail files etc

I am using the SFTP side to bring across the recordings from the linux server so as to allow windows contact store to then work

with an SFTP server (FreeFTPd) configured, as mentioned in avaya docs, from another machine using PSFTP (putty sftp program) I can connect to the remote server, verfying username/password, ports etc are all correct. I then open the vmpro client and attempt to connect under the 'Voice Recording' tab, within general (only avaialble on linux based voicemails) - but I get message

'Test to Remote FTP Server Failed. Error:Failed to Connect to Remote FTP Host'

Anyone else shed any light on this one?? I've read all through the docs, I dont understand why Avaya dont supply an example with the manauls :(

Hello C0mmUN1cAT0r
Saw your post on Contact store and voicemail pro on Linux server so I set up an followed the documentation, which could be clearer.
Here is a link to a Knowledge article to help you get recorded calls showing in contactstore. Details and some screen shots included that may help you on your install.

Problem Clarification

Issue with Server edition 8.1.96-11.el6 and Contact store 7.8.16 (running file replace 3.0.0) and IP Office running 8.1.63

Cannot see recordings in contact store so cannot replay recordings.
Contact store needs to be installed on the windows client machine that also has SFTP installed. All the time the SFTP client cannot log on the Recordings cannot be transferred off of the voicemail pro installed on the Linux server.
Cause

Making sure port 22 is available and not blocked.
Ensure the following for the SFTP server to work with the voicemail server:
 • Configure port 22 to accept incoming connections to the SFTP server.

• Create a separate user account on the SFTP server for use with the voicemail server.or use a Windows account.

• If the SFTP server application requires you to set permissions for the user account, set the Read, Write, and Delete file permissions and the List, Create, and Delete folder permissions for the user account.

SFTP configuration requirements for VRLA feature on Linux-based server

For the VRLA feature to work on a Linux-based voicemail server, you must:

• Install the SFTP server on the computer that runs the ContactStore application.

• Set the Home directory of the user account such that the VRL directory (specified by the value of the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Network Alchemy->Voicemail->Directories->VRLDir on a 32-bit system and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Wow6432Node->Network Alchemy->Voicemail->Directories->VRLDir on a 64-bit system) lies inside the SFTP directory structure.
For example, if you set C:\asdf\xyz as the VRL directory, then set either C:\asdf\xyz or C:\asdf as the Home directory of the SFTP user account.

Testing and troubleshooting the SFTP connection

1. Log in to the command line interface as the root user on the voicemail server.

2. Enter Sftp <username>@sftpIP, where <username> is the username of the SFTP user account.

3. Enter the password of the SFTP user
The SFTP connection should get established.

4. If the SFTP connection is not established, then:

a. On the computer that runs the SFTP server, check if any other application is using port 22 for an SFTP connection. If yes, stop the application.

b. Clear all the entries in /root/.ssh/known_hosts that are associated with the IP address of the SFTP server.
Solution

Details of configuration carried out on test system.
 IP Office Ip address 192.168..1.50
Application server Ip address 192.168.1.72. (running voicemail and One x portal)
Client machine IP address 192.168.1.70 (Running Voicemail client SFTP server and contactstore.)

Screen shot of settings used when using free FTPD
 1. SFTPd account example

2. Tested SFTP account (shows Connected with out seeing this connected cannot confirm if SFTP connection working.

3. Screen shot of successful sftp connection. ContactStore will not show any calls until this is working correctly.

4.. Screen shot of settings in voicemail pro call recording tab.

5. Log from SFTP application showing calls being copied to directory.

6. Path created for wav files to be down loaded.

7. Registry setting used for Contactstore.

8. Screen shot of recordings in contactstore
