I have 3 ann boards in my switch. (1) 750B and (2) 750Cs, I want to consolidate down to both 750Cs if not just one 750C.

First, how do I delete the unused announcments?
Second, how do I migrate announcements to the "good" boards?
Last, do I need to make any programming changes to my vectors or vdns if I move an announcement?

if you cha ann, you can remove the entries for the offending announcements, which will prevent a caller from hearing that announcement, however I don't know what it does to the recording or if it frees up space on the boards.

You definately want to delete the recording before removing the announcement from the announcement board. Avaya has told me that it will corrupt the board if you remove it without deleting the actual recording.

To delete the recording. Find your "Announcement Access Code" by typing "change feat"
Go to a phone that has a COS with console permissions turned to yes.

Dial the announcement access code.
Dial the announcement extension number.
Dial 3.
You'll hear a confirmation tone.
The announcement is deleted.

Once you remove the recording, you can go into the switch and type "list integrated" to verify that the recording times for those announcements are down to 0.

Now you can type "change announcements" and just clear the fields for the announcements that you want to remove. Be aware that if you move an announcement from one board to another, it will erase the announcement.

Don't forget to change the protection from Y to N before deleteing

Oops, in my joy of resolving one problem the other questions remain.

I'm not sure if "migrating" is possible. Maybe someone else knows of a way to do that. Worse comes to worse, you may have to re-record.

You shouldn't have to change any vectors because the announcement extensions will stay the same, the only change is the board location.

Well, you have 2 options. Write down the recordings and rerecord them on the new board or save announcements to your backup media and restore them to the new board. You can only backup one board per media tape (whether it is a flash card, optical disk, or media tape). This is usually not very successful, so I recommend writing them down before you backup and restore them.

Mottelecom Thanks.

I am getting fast busy on some ann when I try to delete them. I changed their protection to N still I get the fast busy?

sometimes right after dialing the ann # and other times after dialing the 3 to delete it.

I thought it might be an issue of the board being in use when I am attempting to delete the message?

If that is the case, Busy the announcement extension number. That will keepit from being used while you try to delete it.

Before you consolidate take a look at your call volume. 750C's only have 16 play ports. If you put all your announcements on one board you might run into a problem.

Use this command to check usage:

list measurements announcements board (*01b07*)

Then choose your option: last hour / today-peak Etc...

That worked. Although I must have deleted a few then tried to delete them a second time.

Last question. For uniformity (hey I am an Army guy), can I just retype the ann on a different line?

Not on a 750C. The line that you have it on is the internal announcement number. If you move it, it will be referencing a new internal number, and (of course) the announcement won't be on that new number.
