This is driving me crazy!!! I'm not only the user but administrator equivalent on my computer (2000), so what can possibly be the problem? I've already performed a search on the subject (i.e. foxresource) and noticed only 1 thread concerning this matter was posted. Do I have to remove an entry in the registry? Create a new resource file? This began a couple months ago (don't know if I did anything to set it off), but it's driving me insane!!! Especially when I want to customize my environment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Vernon

Mike,

Yes, I've tried without success the things mentioned in the thread I posted to you. Problem still exists.

Thanks for the suggestion and I'll look into it. In the meantime, the problem is exclusive to Foxpro

Stewart,

Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look at foxresource.prg. As I stated to 'FatSlug', the dbf & fpt only have the archive bit, not hidden and/or read only.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the help. I'll explore everything and report back.

Hi Vernon,

Have you tried running vfpclean.app located in the startup directory?

Regards,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, I ran vfpclean.app. Still having a problem. Whenever I use the taskpane, click on "options" then change something, the error appears after I click "Ok". As for the Tools, Options stuff, the "Set as Default" button is disabled. Even after I make a change to something, it remains disabled hence will not save any of the configurations I've made. As you can see, this is very annoying!!!! I haven't a problem at home so it's much more pleasant to deal with. But who wants to constantly take work home? ... *laughing* ... just venting.

Thanks,

Vernon

Hi Vernon,

Annoying indeed. Well, if I think of anything else...

Do you have VFP start with the TaskPane? That causes problems with the Status Bar.

Regards,

Mike

Hi Vernon,

Just another thought. Perhaps your Registry for VFP at work is corrupt. Run regedit at home and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualFoxPro\8.0\Options
or:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualFoxPro\8.0
and export to a .reg file.
Take that file to work and Merge it into your work registry.

Regards,

Mike

P.S. Backup your work registry first.

Mike,

I'll give that a try. I'll probably cut & paste it in a document then email it to work as I'm using 2K @ work and XP Pro @ home.

So far I see IDE, IntelliDrop, VCXList under 'Options' with IntelliDrop having several items related. IDE & VCXList are empty.

I'll have a look at home and report back to you.

Again, many thanks.

Vernon

Hi Vernon,

File->Export automatically exports to a .reg extension that you can view with any text editor. Double clicking it merges it into the registry.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Okay, checked my machine at home and there's a great deal of "stuff" when I view "Options" in the registry. The machine at work hasn't anything listed when I click on "Options"

So I'm going to Export and merge it into my machine on Monday.

On that note, enjoy your weekend and I'll be sure to keep you posted come Monday.

Thank you!

Vernon

Sheesh, talk about a late reply... LOL

Update... None of the proposed solutions worked. Needless to day, I'm dealing with it. Pain in the rear, but more important things have become a priority.

Very annoying. Know what I mean?

Thanks to all for the help!
