Hello everyone. I have noticed that my network is having some connection problems that I belive has to do with timeout settings on our Cisco 1760 router. Here is the setup:
PDC "Server" with 2 public addresses x.x.x.3 and x.x.x.4 and one private address of 192.168.1.254. All LAN pc's have private addresses ranging from 192.168.1.1 - .50
All traffic from LAN pc's to "Server" public addresses is allowed.
When LAN pc's connect to "Server" using the public addresses, the connection is terminated after a few miniutes of inactivity. When the LAN pc's connect using the private address, the connection is never terminated.
The Cisco router has 2 ethernet ports, one for all of our public addresses and one for our private addresses. I imagine that since the terminated connections are going from one port to the other, a timeout of some sorts is causing the termination.
Can I specify a longer timeout or no timeout at all for traffic from certain private addresses to the public ones?
Please let me know of any suggestions you may have. Thank you!!!
