Hello all,

I have installed Symantec enterprise VPN client 7.0.0 on a HP NC6120 laptop.

Company has a Raptop Firewall.

I logon to the VPN and make a connection to the gateway - this all is going well and the screen is saying that a connection has been established.

But when I try to ping certain servers to see if it is working I do not get anything at all. I am unable to access the company servers.

I am connecting through a router. When I install the same software on a desktop at home and use the same router I get a valdi connection and I am able to see and access teh company servers and resources.

Is there a way to find out where in Windows XP - SP2 wher the problem is as there is somekind of thing that stops the connections.

Windows firewall has been disabled !

Have you installed the VPN client patches on your laptop that are needed for Windows XP?

You can find the patches at:
Can you ping the local IP address of the Raptor Firewall?

Is your client machine's local IP address within the same subnet as the company network? If so, you may have a routing problem where the routers are looking for your laptop inside the network instead of sending traffic out through the VPN. I ran into a similar problem and had to create a special route on my company router to my laptop's IP address.
