We have been approached by a telephony carrier that can deliver to us VoIP technology using our 800 inbound traffic. What they would do is provide a VoIP router (typically a Cisco 2800 series) in front of our PBX. They would send us VoIP calls to this router, and then the calls would convert back to digital translation to our PBX (since today it is not VoIP). We need to find out what type of connection is needed between our pbx and the cisco router. Would it be a PRI DS1 or FX0 connection? Would there have to be any other equipment needed within the PBX (eg: CLan card) to connect to this router?
