Connecting two cisco switches

I have two switches from cisco one 2900 and the other 3500. Now I'm connecting the switches on the front with a regular cat 5 cable. Is this the correct way?

Yes you should be able to connect them together using any port on the switch though I tend to use the very first ports or last on the switch just to keep track , connecting them together will require a crossover cable.
