I have an SQL Server DB. I have created several forms in Access which require a connection to the SQL Server DB.

I want to connect to the SQL Server DB automatically when the form loads - instead of the SQL Server Login prompt from appearing.

Is this possible?

thanks for the reply.

This is sort of what i am after - i need to connect to all of the tables in the sql server db - i assume that this is what happens when i log in via the SQL Server Login prompt??

Basically i have created a form in access which allows the user to run a number of different reports. As soon as the report runs, it requires the password for the SQL Server DB to be entered. I do not wish for users to know this password, hence the reason why i would like to connect programmatically.

Not sure if this applies to your case but when you link tables in access using and ODBC connection, there is a remember password checkbox available to so the user doesn't have to know the password. At least this is how it works when you use and oracle ODBC driver.

Thanks everyone for your help - setting the remember password checkbox solved my problem.

A nice and easy solution - i was trying to make this much more diffcult than it needed to be.

Cheers
