I have the need to connect to a SQL server database via a RAS connection.
The database that I wish to connect to is a separate instance (i.e NTSERV\SQL2000DB).
The machine can be seen on the network but all attempts to connect to the database fail with the 'Server does not exist or access denied' message. This database can be connected to fine on the local network via both windows and SQL authentication, but the same error applies for both via RAS.
There are no other databases on that machine but I can connect to a SQL 2000 database on another machine which is not an instance.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Stuart
