We have several field offices setup, and would like them to log onto the domain here at the head office. The field stations all have different subnets, for example, we would be 192.168.200.0 and the field offices would begin at something like 192.168.300.0, 192.168.400.0, and so on. They are connected to here using a VPN tunnel we setup on our routers.

Is there a way we can get them to log onto the domain from the field offices? Our domain server would be something like 192.168.200.1. I took over for our networking guy, so this stuff is new to me.

Thanks,

if the network is correctly routed, they should be able to see the DC, join the domain and log in with a domain account.
If you have a lot of users at different sites, it could be useful having a DC at each site...

yeah, will probably throttle your link having remote logons from that many sites

stick a DC at each site and let AD Replication do the work, so people can logon via their local DC
