Hello to all, and the best wishes to for this new year.

Mi question is:

How can i connect a Nortel 0X32 working with e&m cards with a Multi-Tech system for VOIP communication to another site. If some one has the cross connection pintout between the to equipment i´ll be very gratefull.

Thanks.

I have not connected E&M to a multitech but have done it with ATA's without any problems.

i have connected sites via e&m cards but found that the quality was far better using ata's. the only advantage of using e&ms is that you are able to dial ext's directly. Otherwise, i would suggest using the ata's. That's what i think.

foxdenprod,

can you tell me how you connected the e&m cards to the multitek? I have been trying to do this without success. SPecifically, what is the wiring? Do you use a crossover cable or straight through pinning? Is the Norstar a type I, type II, type III, etc? Does the Multitec give you dialtone without the other side being connected? Wht lights should I see on the multitec? Is there a guide on this?

Thanks,
Harold

Off of the top of my head i can not remember the wiring. I know thought that it was in the manual from multitech. The norstar is a type II, 4 wire.

As far as i know the only guide was the one that came with the unit. I had to have multitech walk me through the first one i did becasue it was, shall we say, being difficult. It is confussing if you have not done it before, but it does work.
