Hi there,
I would like to ask you if you know the way to connect to a Definity G3 system using a serial port of the computer and the port at the back side of the 8510T device.
Thank you for your time

Connect with a view to doing what ? Are you thinking of features through CTI (signalling etc.) or PC based admin connecting through a handset ?

As far as I know neither is possible, although for features I would recommend your investigation of Avaya's Voice over IP offerings. As you are probably aware, the ECS platforms can be "IP-enabled" easily through the use of C-LAN, Med-Pro / Prower (named after it's creator) and code version 9.

Version 9 also offers adminstration via a telnet-like session (as possible with Intuity for a long time now).

This is a real development, but was too slow coming.

Hope this helps

Giles

Hi,
I think you just want to manage your Definity switch via the back port of 8510T.
You need to add data-module on last page of your 8510T station form, connect RS port of PC, start any terminal programm with VT100 terminal support and make line config 9600-N-8-1. Then you will call (ATD dial command) to your switch NETCON extensions hunt-group, wich you should previously assign by adding 4 data-modules netcon type with 4 maintenance extensions in each of them.
