connecting tables

I have two tables, And I want to make a record continuous
so record 1 in table 1 should be the same in table 2.

I have a field called ID in Table 1 if this helps.

So when inputing in form 1 (writing to table 1) I have a button to take me to form 2 (writing to table 2) do I have to do anything to ensure It automatically writes to the right place?

Sorry I always seem to get stuck on this one.

Do you mean that the record in table1 is exactly the same as the record in table 2? If so you need to write some code to copy the record from table1 and append the record to table 2 when the button is clicked. If you mean that the data is different, but has a linked field, add both tables to a query and build your form on the query rather than the first table. Does that help?
