Hi all
This is the first time I’m doing this procedure so maybe it is a simple question but i can't find the problem.
I connected a new line to our switch - I currently have one line connected to trunk group 1 via port 01A0901 (working fine).
I tried to connect the new line to the new trunk group (number 2) via port 01A0902.
When I type the command "monitor trunk 2" I get in the service status - disconnected - what should I do in order to change the status to in-service?
Thanks for the help.
Eliav

Is this a CO-Trunk? If so have you punched down this second line on pair 4 of the Amphenol cable that connects to the side of the CSI switch?

Hi
Yep, it is a CO-Trunk and i connected it the same way the first line is connected (and the first line is working).
Thanks for your help.
Any other ideas?

I know it seems obvious, but did you add the new trunk to the trunk group. Also check to make sure it is not reversed if it is a ground start trunck. next force disconnect it & then renanble it. Ie busy trunk 01A0902. release trunk 01A0902. Sometimes you have to do that.

It looks like you are adding another trunk group instead of adding to the first group. I would add to the first group (ch tr 1) and add this as a second member. (st tr 1/002) See if that gets it going for you.

I didn't pick up on that, but it does look like he is adding a new trunk group. Maybe its supposed to be in its own. If so, I would suggest he tries busying & releasing it.

I gave the wrong command in my previous post is busy port 01A0902 & release port 01A0902 or busy trunk 2 1/release trunk 2 1 .

Hi Pual
I are correct I’m tring to add new trunk group (in order to create a new hunt group), so the solution of Mike is not relevant (even though i tried it and still not working - adding the 01A0902 port as the second port of trunk group 1)
I tried your commands and it didn't work (I understand your mistake and tried "busy trunk 2" in the emulator mode but it generate an error "trunk is invalid entry".
I'm just looking for something that will "free" the disconnect mode.
Thanks for all your help.

Have you tried to turn tip and ring around on your trunk? The DID and OGO trunks are polarity sensitive. I will have turn mine around from time to time when Bell does a splice somewhere in my old copper cable and they reverse a pair. Also look at the error log (disp err) and alarm log (disp ala) and see if they point you to the problem. One other thing is to double check your programing with the first group and make sure everything is the same in the second or new group that you are adding.

Hi Mike
when i tried "disp ala" i got:
01A0902 CO-TRK n 02/01 WARNING RDY 05/06/12:12 00/00/00:00
01A0902 CO-TRK n 02/01 WARNING RDY 05/06/12:12 00/00/00:00

Any other ideas?

Under the error log (disp err) it will show the errors that are associated with those alarms and repair procedures for those alarms. Post here and let us see what they are.

Hi Mike

Here it is:

01A0902 CO-TRK 02/01 3585 57424 05/06/12:11 05/06/18:16 30 4 4 a y
01A0902 CO-TRK 02/01 1537 05/06/12:11 05/06/18:16 30 4 4 a y

thanks.

Eliav

The first error 3585 with aux data 57424 show that their is no loop current on outgoing call. The second error 1537 is the dialtone test. It says to test the port 01a0902 short repeat 2 times (test po 01a0902 sh r 2) would be the command. Is this a 1FB or pots line that you are adding as a trunk group? Just wondering if this might should be set as a ground start trunk? You could try getting on this with your buttset and see if you have dialtone. Then use a stripped out peice of jumper wire, touch one end to a ground and then touch to one side and then the other of your clips and see if you then get dialtone. If you do you have a ground start trunk.

Can you see the problem ?

Greetings.

Eliav

Where the line is punched down on the 110 frame make sure it is on pair 4 and not pair 2.

I fyou dont understand what skara is saying.
The co lines have to be terminated in the correct spot.
This is normally on a 25 pair punch down. Since the board is an 8 port board there are extra pairs that are not used.
So to use the 8 ports you will use
pair 1
pair 4
pair 7
pair 10
pair 13
pair 16
pair 19
pair 22

Hi Bob
Thats solve the problem!!!!
10ex alot
