I just read a closed thread about connecting a ShoreTel system to a Nortel system using PRI trunks. The gentleman who opened the ticket has the same issues I have, but there was no resolution mentioned in his thread. Has anyone been succesfull in doing this? His thread was thread798-857529

does the shore offer qsig? qsig is a common front end interface that allows any two switches to intergtare very close to full intergration.. i've used it between several switches and nortel, rolm, avaya cisco etc

The next release of software does have QSIG, but we are not upgrading until they get the bugs worked out of that software.

At one site, with a 61C, the integration works flawless, but when we try to duplicate that setup at the 11C sites, it will not work and Nortel says what we have on the 61C is a fluke, and should not work at all.

can't believe that, it's programed and it works, whats stopping you from duplicating that.. did your service tech tell you that or did nortel tell you that?

When we tried to copy what was programmed from the 61C to the 11C, he encountered an error setting up the D channel I think. It asked him for something that he could not provide. The 61C is setup as a tie line and the 11C sites are setup as DID because they could not setup the TIE lines because of the error. I heard from Sprints Nortel support that what is setup on the 61C should not work. He said it was a fluke, and if we tried to do it again, it would not work. While that tech was on the line and in the system, we setup another D channle and all that just like the other one, and the tech still said it was a fluke.

It is kinda crazy. The error had something to do with the protocol needing another feild filled out. Like NI1 XXXX, wher ehe could not enter anything for the XXXX

We will be trying this again in the morning, so we will see how it goes.
