Thanks to both for your quick responses! Actually, I'd like to administer both from the network, but neither unit directly supports Ethernet. I figure I can find a serial-to-Ethernet adapter to connect between the 9 pin Dsub on the mail unit and a LAN port, which covers that part. And I have successfully tested a hyperterm file that 'speaks' to the voicemail unit, so I know what settings work. I guess I could do the same thing for the ACS by converting the RJ45 to Dsub, then to Ethernet, but I have been unsuccesful getting a response from the ACS. I have tried observing the SMDR output (unsucessfully so far) to be sure my hyperterm settings are correct before trying to communicate with the system. In browsing the Partner threads, I noted several (differing) references to settings, none of which have worked for me. Any additional tips would be appreciated.
