Not sure if this is the right forum?
I am running Vista on a Gateway laptop.
I have a strong signal to the internet and sending and receiving bytes but only have local network access.
This just stopped with no changes to the system. No installs or changes such as windows or norton updates.
I have done:
reset modem ( second laptop gets on the internet no problems)
uninstalled the network adapter
Changed from auto detect IP address to putting in IP address etc...and changed back to auto detect.
did a clean install of vista which I am now running with no other programs installed.
tried auto detect problems and only says there isn't a network connection.
tried wireless and broadband connection both show up as a network but computer will not connect.
did a direct connect to network and still same results.
Any ideas????
