The 'simple' solution is to go into the Tables window and click on Files, Get External Data, Link Tables
You then get a dialogue box which you use to navigate to the target xxx.mdb file
Then select the table that within that containing the backup data that you want.
You'll then have that table appear as in the database window but with a black arrow on the left. This arrow identifies it as a linked table.
You can then use this table in exactly the same way as a real table. The difference is that it is 'just a link' The real data is still stored to, and recrieved from, the archive database.
