Is there a way to connect to my VPN at startup?

I have a VPN setup with some mapped drives on my server at work. Every time I start my home machine I get the cannot connect to f:. I know that this is because the VPN has not been started. Once I connect the VPN(after start up) the mapped drives work fine. It isn't really a big issue, its just kind of a pain in the butt and here shortly in the future I will be setting up my bosses computer the same way and I think it would look more professional if it were to automatically connect. The server is 2000 Advanced Server and XP pro workstations. Any help appreciated.

this may help. quoted from
How to connect to a Windows domain using Windows VPN at startup

If you are running w2k/xp pro setup for a domain controller, you will have a option to "log on using dial-up connection" on logon screen after creating a VPN/dial-up connection. In the Log On to Windows dialog box, the user can select the Log on using dial-up connection check box. After clicking OK, the user is prompted to choose a network connection.

Ok let me ask this. This is a home machine that is not connected as a domain computer. Would I have to make this part of the domain to get this to work then?
