Hi,

I had accidentaly key in the wrong number to recover passowrd. I was supposed to keyin 0x2142 somehow made a mistake and keyin 0x2124.

Now the router is unable to bootup. I can no longer get into "Ronmon>".

Its displaying "CCCCCCCCCCCCC" continuously for 4 lines and just stops there.

Anyone can help?
Thanks

Hi

Have a look at the table in:

In making your config register 2124 the last character sets bits 0-3 to 0x8000, which means that your router is looking to do a netboot.

The second '2' sets bit 5, which is not defined in the table, so I don't know what it is trying to do.

I would try hitting the 'break' on your PC connected as console as the router tries to boot (this may be the break key alone, or ctrl-break, or whatever depending on your PC) in the hope of forcing the router into rommon.

Otherwise it looks like a call to TAC might be needed...

0x2124 has changed your router baud rate to 19200. Change your COM port speed to match and you'll be able to communicated with the router okay.

Thanks,

Will try it out this weekend.

As Jimmyz says, baud rate change to 19200. I got the router working again.

Thanks again for your help.
