Configuring a Nortel BCM

Can a Nortel BCM 200 be configured like a MICS or CICS from a phone using Feature**CONFIG? If not, how do you program a BCM?

Later models can be programmed exactly like a MICS/CICS using the phone or with Element Manager (PC). That's what makes the BCM so brilliant, it inherits many the traits of the MICS/CICS and adds some new features and can be programmed similarly.

Earlier versions (3.X) of the BCM require a PC and Unified Manager.

Thanks for the info jsaad. The BCM we have taken over is version 3.7. I have been into the web interface to look at the programming. However, when I click "Add User" it simply refreshes the page and doesn't go any further. I've turned off the pop-up blockers on my web browser. Do we have to do some additional configuring before the "Add User" link will work?

Are you looking to add a phone or a mailbox? Please specify.

I haven't used unified manager in a while. Add user, I believe might mean an account to login/logout of unified manager, is that what you want to do?

Really you can program most things minus ip type stuff via set programming on any BCM. You just have to know the right password. I'll give you a hint it's something then config..good luck, or you can use the unified manager which is the better way to do it.

Make sure you are using IE8 or earlier to configure with as 9 and Firefox might conflict with the software.

ever try changing the time on a 3.6 or 3.7 system using the phone?

Try using java 1.5 only as 1.67 used to be an issue where some items would not populate under 1.6.

Ive programmed 3.7 systems before front to back via telset programming, so yes I've chgd the time before.
