Configure MOH

Just installed a 4.2 CM and am trying to determine why I can't get MOH to work...

The MOH Server is configured (it's on the CM itself) and the Audio Source is configured (am just using the SampleAudioSource), and the phones I'm testing with are using SampleAudioSource for user and network hold audio sources. When I place a call on-hold all I hear are the beeps.

What am I missing? Do I need to enable multicast?

make sure you have a Media Resource Group setup and also Media Resource Group List.


Media Resource Group will have your MOH_CM1 (MOH) and MOH_CM2 (MOH) added.

Media Resource Group List will have the Media Resource Group you created in the step above added.

OK, I added those. Tried to do a reset on the Media Resource Group and the Media Resource Group List, but got a message saying there's no devices to reset.

Also did a reset on the Audio Source and the MOH server.

Still get the beeps.

I always assign the MRGL in my Device Pools but it can be done per phone. BVe sure it is assigned to your phone one way or the other.

I created a MRGL for MOH - am I supposed to have all the Media resources in there?

I also changed teh Default TFTP MOH File Path to the server IP rather than the server name. Didn't help either.

What else can I look at?

OK - now I have it working internally. How do I get it to work for external callers?

I added the MRGL to my gateways, but that didn't work...

Gateway over rides Device pool over rides profile.

I personal would set it on the DP. If my personal MOH of Frank singing New York New York ever vanished my users would not know who I was.
