Configure DAT updates only on certian days?

I am trying to configure my EpO to update half of my servers on Tuesday and the other on Thursday. I cannot seem to make this work. I have created two different groups for the Tuesday and Thursday machines and have set task for them to Update ONLY on their respective days. No matter what I set as a task, it always updates, regardless of the day.

Do I need to configure something else? Is the agent updating my machines whenever there is an update avaialable? It makes sense for this to be the default behavior, But I would like to stagger my updating in case of incompatability issues. Can I disable the automatic update policy from EpO?

Is your EPO server configure with Global Updating with SuperAgent on your servers? If so, that's your problem. As soon as there is a new update available, all superAgent are notify and update themself automatically. Instead, use a mirror task and specify when you want it to run.

I am a little confused. My EpO agent which is installed on my server machines is setup to enforce its policy every 5 minutes or so. Is that what you mean? I dont know, nor have I haver seen a global updating setting.

A mirroring task seems to be for updating repositories. Am I inccorrect in the assumption? I would like the DAT update on the client machines to be altered, not the repositories update task.

Could you please elaborate. I apologize for my confusion.
