hi guys can anyone tell me whether it is possible to install avaya j129 phones in avaya s8800 server with a software version of communication manager version 5 (CM5)?

I think at best it will work for placing and receiving calls, just like a non-Avaya brand SIP phone such as Polycom, but the SIP server will not recognize it as an AST - Advanced SIP Telephony - device.
