Hi everybody, I am new to the Norstar forum and to Norstar systems, we are an Avaya BP...I am seeking help, we have a customer that had a power outage and the Nortel system lost the configuration, I was told that the problem is the internal battery of the system is bad, I did see a PCMCIA card on the system and I was told that if a backup was performed the system could be restored from it...is it possible to restore the configuration from the PCMCIA card and if the answer is yes, how do you do it?

Thanks,

No not possible.

To backup you need:
1 X R.A.D. Remote Access Device
1 X NRU Norstar Remote Utilities
1 X Modem (or you can direct connect on site.

Once your connected with NRU you can backup or restore.
Programming resides on the KSU ecept for early versions like 8X24.

Thank you for the quick response, what you are saying is that the system will need to be programmed from scratch, correct? No other way..!

Thanks,

you'll have to re-program from scratch. then make your backup.

On this one I think I am going to have to punt the ball and ask the customer to call somebody that knows what they are doing because I do not know how to begin programming this thing...can you guys point me to a resource, a set of documents or something that I can use to familiarized myself with this type of systems and eventually be able to properly mess with them?
