I'm a newbie to the Solaris world and i'm trying to load Solaris 8 on the PC side. I get as far as running the Configuration Assistant then i get and error:Master File Line too long Max is 2000. I'm using the DCA boot disk to boot my machine which is an AST P160. Can anyone help me??

Is your CPU a AMD-K5 ? Solaris 8 doesn't support AMD-K5 Cpu, that message apears in a presence of a AMD-K5, if this is you case you can use Solaris 7 (that supports AMD-K5), or change cpu in order to install Solaris 8.
