We recently upped our T1 data speed from 256k to 768k. We're using a external CSU/DSU which is connected to the serial port on our Cisco 1601r. Is there any config needed on the 1600 when we change the speeds?

Hi

If you are getting the clock from the DCE (which is default) then there should be no changes.

Look in the running config under the T1 controller for an entry along the lines of "clock source line".

Alternatively you should see reference to it in the output of "show Controller T1 <number>"

Actually, sorry, we have a T1 line but it connects over frame-relay. I don't see anything about the clock source line in my config. Should that be there if we're connected to a frame?

Since the CSU/DSU is an external one (AT&T Paradyne) I don't have the 'show service-module' command. The Paradyne is setup to where it should be, though.

You didn't change your speed.
You changed the bandwidth for the allocated PVC
which means you providor will aloow more stuff to be pushed all at once.
