IPO 406 3.1.48,All analog lines all 5410's and 5420's

When I make a conference call from one of our phones to 2 outside parties I have trouble listening to the call. (very choppy)
They do not have any trouble hearing me or each other.

When I conference 1 outside party with another internal extension everything is fine.

Any help or input will be appreciated.

Are you using speakerphone or the handset?
If using speakerphone the 5410 and 5420 are not good phone,s to use for Conference.

To intrigrant: Referencing your last post, we are having a very similar problem on a 406V2 R3.1.(48) w/5410 sets. How should we proceed with verifying impedance mismatch? Is that something we need to work out with the LEC?

We have had a similar scenario. We ended up swapping out for 2420 phones the only way to get a decent speech quality.
We put it down to where the mic position was.

Is this a 406V2?

If this is a 406V2 has a know issue with conferencing.

Avaya Tier 3 has a fix for it. But you must open a tac case to get the software.

Can you please explain how to turn off the auto gain control.

To turn on/off gain, press Mute 242# then follow on-screen prompts. 0=off, 1=on

Thank you all for above suggestions. We will call Avaya and open ticket.

You need to get 3.1.(498901).

I know that 3.1(56) is scheduled to be release in 2 weeks. This bug is schedueld to be in the 3.1 (56) general release.

I had to work with Avaya's R&D to get this one correct.

Avaya SMBS is aware of this bug.

I have it happening on a 406V2 2.1 (27) with 44xx series sets. They complain that when on a conference call the outside person is very choppy - sounds like a bad VoIP call but it isn't even using the IP bus in the system. They do have other sites connected via IP trunking - SCN but it happens when you are at any of the sites and establish a conference call on a digital set over an analog trunk.

FYI. 3.1(56) was released. It was corrected in that version of SW.

Yes, 3.1(56) absolutely corrected our conference calling "chop." Thank you much!!

Upgraded to 3.1.56. So far so good. Not sure if problem is resolved completely or people got tired of complaining.
