I have definity g3i with 3 cabinets each cabinet is in a different biulding

the main cabinet 1 is conected to cabinets 2 and 3 via fibre.

With this arrangement everyone can get and recieve and make external calls but phones in cabinet 2 can not call phones conected to cabinet 3 and vice versa this is because cabinet 2 and 3 are not conected together via fibre

Is there anyway around this. is it possible that cabinet 1 can reley the calls between 2 and 3

thanks for any advice

The only way around this is to install a centre stage ($$$$) also Avaya will discontinue the sale of the equipment for fibre connects and centre stages on June 5. The new method is to use "IP connect" utilizing IPSI boards and Crossfire boards. Cards are not to expensive but the licensing is really bad.

The G3si requires all the 3 cabinets to be connected together via fibre. cabinet 1 will connect with 2 & 3 & there has to be a fiber connectivity between cabinet 2 & 3. it should be a ring structure for G3si rather than a star (like CSS).

Just connect the fiber (ST-ST connector 62.5 micron multi-mode fiber) between the cabinet 2 & cabinet 3. This should solve your problem.

thanks for your input

"Just connect the fiber (ST-ST connector 62.5 micron multi-mode fiber) between the cabinet 2 & cabinet 3"

I know this will solve the problem but the cabinets are in different buildings

They will just have to live with it for a few week as this is just a tempory soloution

thanks

We understand there are different buildings but no one pulls just 2 strands. It isn't too far fetched to assume you have a spare pair from each EPN back to the PPN which you can then jumper together for your cabinet 2/3 link.
