Anyone ever seen this before? We have about 10 IP sets and 50 softphones but under "display capacity", the PBX lists 4200+ which is even greater than our RTU. Even stranger, this number seems to be growing by about 50 per week. It is cm4.0.1.

"list reg" also correctly shows the 53 devices, not 4200+.

There are some major issues in CM 4.0.1 on licensing and registration. One "bug" that I found was the IP Agent licensing...I needed to have 12 to 15 people using IP Agent, and I only have the 5 "free" licenses...I found where the system did not keep track of them correctly and I was able to get more than 20 IP Agents registered on my system. This is a known issue and Avaya has been pushing sites to get up to 4.0.4...I am already supposed to be there, but I have resisted this far, but I can't hold out much longer. I will end up on CM 5.1 by the end of second quarter...

My main concern is as this bogus "concurrent registrations" number keeps growing closer to the 12,000 station Max point even though I only have 50 something IP Stations, I suspect the system is going to freak out. Maybe an after hours reboot is in order before too long.

Avaya software corruption group can correct your counter

Cold patch is a preventative fix to keep it from incrementing erroneously. You are correct, when it gets to 12000, registrations will be blocked.

Fast fix is a reboot.

If you do not have Avaya maintenance, I may be able to help.

It,s software bug, upgrade ro latest 4.x release and latest patches.

It also happens in the first 5.x releases.

Ad the end you end up with a reset sys 4 so an upgrade is almost the same downtime....
