This computer has been working fine and not it will not boot. I get the start screen (bios before windows) but that's it. I doesn't check floppy or anything. If I jump the motherboard (by the battery) it will then fire up just fine.
I'm not sure what you mean by "jumping the motherboard by the battery" If you mean you are changing the jumpers to clear the BIOS then I'd try a new battery. Your battery might be bad and not holding you CMOS configurations. Hope this helps.
If you are sure the battery is OK then maybe your BIOS has gone bad. You could try a flash update, that may well fix it. Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's web site and look for downloads. You MUST get the update for your EXACT model of board, this is very important. You will also have to download a flash utility to do the upgrade. There will be instructions on the website or as a download, get these and follow them exactly. Mulga is right. Pay close attention to the bios string for all the information you need is in that string. Its the very first thing that come on with the system. In most cases the string is never seen unless you do a warm boot(reboot). But sometimes you can catch it by pushing the pause button as soon as the system is turned on. Return will resume the booting process. Let everything that have breath praise the Lord.
I would like to add that you should really do your homework. A bad flash will render your computer inoperable. Also, there are web sites that sell flashes for 20-25 dollars. I'd steer clear of these guys. They'll sell you a flash if it's the right one or not(been there-done that) You should be able to get the right flash and instructions from your motherboard manufacturer. Good luck.
