For some reason when I set my D-Link wireless card used in my laptop to obtain IP address automatically, it can not do so (it ends up using an IP of 169. type rather than 192. type). If I manually set IP address, mask, and default gateway, the laptop sees all network resources, but can not access the internet via IE (I am using a Trendnet broadband gateway/hub combo that acts as DHCP server.

I am setting things up under the Network Bridge, where it lists the protocols, and allows me access to the TCP/IP settings.

When I use same laptop with ethernet card connected, it sees DHCP server, all network resources, and can access the internet via IE.

I have never used wireless before. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for help!

I am sending this reply even though I started the post as a point of information. As soon as I delted the Network Bridge in Network Connections, all was well.
